Episode 8: Toasty Tuna

Toasty Tuna —sometimes known by his alter ego Kaleb Duggan—is an WNC illustrator and wood-cut artist whose work radiates humor and an unmistakable sense of joy. In his art, Toasty blends simplicity and playfulness in a way that’s disarmingly powerful, resulting in a wild collisions of folk art and pop-cartooning. His characters—bold, weird, and full of personality—often feel both intimate and iconic.

Toasty’s path through the indie art scene reflects a strong sense of persistence and community. From distributing homemade stickers around Asheville to finding a creative home with Asheville’s Horse + Hero, he’s built a practice, and unique, recognizable style, rooted in accessibility, joy, and a deep appreciation for everyday creativity.

You can also find works by Toasty at Horse + Hero in Downtown Asheville, as well HollerHouse in Bristol, VA
