Episode 2: Rob Czar

Rob Czar is a self-taught artist who transformed his life after surviving a near-death experience. Previously a successful YouTuber, he suffered a heart attack and was clinically dead for 27 minutes, which profoundly changed his trajectory in life. During his recovery, he turned to painting as a way to process his experiences, emotions, and reflections on mortality. Rob approaches his work with raw emotion and instinct, exploring themes like death, fear, and existential struggles that many avoid. His art is a deeply personal expression driven by the urgency of life’s fragility and a desire to confront cultural taboos.

Rob’s creative process is guided by the mantra “paint like there’s no tomorrow,” embracing spontaneity and honesty over traditional rules. He finds fulfillment in translating haunting memories and visions into art that sticks to your core. His journey from YouTube stardom to artist reflects a powerful transformation fueled by resilience, authenticity, and a relentless drive to create meaningful work that connects on a deeply human level.

Rob keeps a studio at RAD Rendezvous in the River Arts District in Asheville, North Carolina (87 Roberts St, Asheville, NC 28801).
